TEACHING AND LEARNING

  • Syllabus: Essential data of lesson plans (theory and practical) is provided in booklet form, Class-wise, for the information of parents of students.
  • Computer Education is a compulsory subject of our Syllabus. Computer Theory and Practical Classes are held bi-weekly by highly qualified instructors in a well-equipped and up-to-date Computer Section. Our curriculum aims at making the student cognizant with Windows 7, Logo and Power Point. Visual Basic and SQL are taught in the Senior Classes. Apart from this we aspire to develop logical aptitude in the students through exposure to Computer Networking and Q-Basic, C++, core-java, and other softwares like MS-Office 2007, HTML, Flash -CS4 and Adobe Photoshope-CS3. Internet related information is readily accessed to aid the teaching-learning process. To make the young students computer friendly, classes of introductory exercises and Multimedia are part of the curriculum for Primary Classes.
  • Class Edge: "Tata ClassEdge", an innovative and comprehensive educational solution from Tata Interactive Systems (TIS), is designed to help teachers deliver high quality instruction, with an effective blend of classroom activities and interactive multimedia demonstrations. Based on the Multiple Learning Experiences Model (MLEx) - an instructional framework developed by TIS - Tata ClassEdge aims to enhance students' social and thinking skills alongwith ensuring a thorough understanding of the curriculum content."
  • Home Work & Satchels: Excess weight of School bags is a matter of concern to educationalists. Students should have light weight satchels and carry books only according to the timetable. Parents should check the burden of the satchel to ensure that it is not overweight.
  • Parents are requested to check the Work Diaries daily and should countersign any message written by the teachers.
  • Students who are in default of completion of Classwork, Homework and Assignments or are recalcitrant and insubordinate may be detained after School hours to complete their work.
  • Spoken English: Since All Saints' is an English Medium School, it is necessary to encourage the speaking of English at every level and at all times. Regular Conversation exercises are operational as classroom activity. Terminal and Final oral examinations in Spoken English are an essential criterion for promotion.
  • Handwriting. The value of good HANDWRITING as indicative of 'Character' is an important concept of our educational system and an abiding legacy of the Foundress of All Saints'.
  • Project Work is an indispensible adjunct of the LEARNING BY DOING process which is emphasised by modern educators. Regular classroom activities and home assignments are exhibited for House Competitions. Project Work marks are included in tests/ examinations of respective subjects.
  • Important Notice Regarding Examinations:
    • No pupils, including entrants for Board examinations, will be allowed preparation leave except at the discretion of the Principal. Parents must co-operate in the enforcement of this rule and strictly disregard excuses their children make for staying away from School. Pupils who are unduly absent and have not maintained 75% attendance in class, may not be eligible for the Final Examinations.
    • Parent's active co-operation is requested in promoting and enforcing the codes of conduct taught in the School. A pupil found cheating in any manner or form in the examinations, for which no excuse or second chance will be entertained, will be reported to the Education Department and the offending pupil may be expelled from the School.
    • The admission of a pupil who fails for two years in succession in a particular class will automatically be cancelled.
  • Games and Sports: Physical fitness and the concept of sportsmanship are developed through regular sports activities for both girls and boys. Football, Cricket, Throwball, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Indigenous and Indoor Sports find an important place in our Curriculum. The players participate in Inter House and Inter School Tournaments which are held to foster potential, talent and social relationships.
  • N. C. C.: In order to provide a strong base for physical and ideological development through active awareness of National and Social objectives and ideals, separate contingents of girls and boys have bi-weekly training and attend Camps as per the schedule of the respective M.P. Girls and Boys Battalions.
  • Extra Curricular Cultural Activities : Training in Life Skills and Hobbies. An important aspect of education is to develop interest and skills in extra curricular activities. These accomplishments complement academic progress, contribute towards character and personality development and the acquisition of social skills.
  • It is compulsory for every student from Class I upwards to opt for at least one of the following:
    • Classical and Folk Dancing, Music, Percussion Band, Yoga, Karate, Public Speaking, Drama, Fine Arts, Photography, Craft.
